The three workshops provide subject leaders with an opportunity to be updated on the latest initiatives, research and thinking in teaching and learning mathematics. Guest speakers and subject leaders are invited to share what really works with their colleagues.
The main focus is the ongoing development of the mastery mathematics curriculum, considering challenges such as ‘keeping the class together’, teaching for mastery, improving reasoning and problem solving skills and using representations and manipulatives to develop deep understanding.
Materials and practical ideas support leaders to provide training for colleagues in their own schools and guide action planning for future development areas.
NOTE: Leaders will need to bring equipment/materials; details will be emailed to schools so please check.
