Introducing Woodwork in Early Years & Quality Children's Interactions

Camborne and Truro Nursery Schools are hosting an exciting day course split into two parts.

Pete Moorhouse from Early Education will be leading a woodwork session.  He is an Artist Educator and Early Years Consultant. He has also worked in educational settings for over 20 years and is passionate about encouraging children’s creativity and critical thinking.

The session will include:

  • how to introduce tools and set up a woodworking area
  • about health and safety issues and risk assessments
  • information on where you need to go to source the necessary tools and resources
  • gain an insight into the historical context and current thinking
  • understand about the learning and development associated with woodwork in relation to the EYFS
  • have the opportunity to get hands on experience to gain confidence working with tools
  • gain insights into examples of longer term woodworking projects.

The Quality Children’s Interactions session will explore issues and barriers to further deepen quality interactions.

The course is £75.  9.00am to 4.00pm. Lunch will be provided.
