Wednesday 13th December 2017
1.30pm-4pm, A12, Advent House, Victoria, Roche, PL26 8LG
These two fun practical workshops aimed at NQTs/RQTs support teachers to understand what really works in the primary classroom. Teachers will have a better understanding of how to promote fluency, reasoning and problem solving and create a classroom environment to support pupils to learn mathematics.
Delegates will have a set of flexible resources and ideas they can adapt to use in their own classrooms, and understand how to meet the challenges of teaching for mastery and using practical resources to develop deep understanding.
Teachers will learn how to use important representations such as the bar model and practical resources like bead strings and place value counters in their own classrooms to support ‘keeping the class together’.
Flexible ideas for games and materials to adapt to your year group that really work. You will need to bring a range of equipment to join in the fun so check the list and come prepared!
