Cornwall Green Charter

climate change climate emergency green charter eco schools

CAPH is very proud to support the Green Charter now developed for primary schools and promoted by schools in Penwith. The key to developing this is by looking to gain Eco School status. The link is www.eco-schools.org.uk/about/howitworks/. This will guide and assist you in achieving the aims of the Charter. Our aim is to educate and not distress children as they find positive ways to address all the climate issues.

Below is a letter from Mat Strevens with the relevant documents and clear instructions on how to register your interest.

November 2019

Dear Headteacher,

Earlier this year, Cornwall's secondary schools signed the Green Schools' Charter, an initiative led by Alex Lingard, Headteacher of Liskeard School and Community College, in response to the Climate Emergency.

A similar charter (attached) has now been designed for primary schools which is supported by Alex, CAPH and the Local Authority.

We hope that all primary schools in Cornwall will join the growing list of schools who will sign the charter and collectively declare a climate emergency on 29th November 2019.

If you are happy to add your school to this list, we would be grateful if you could confirm with a short email to: secretary@trythall.cornwall.sch.uk

Kind regards,

Mat Strevens, Trythall CP School

Alex Lingard, Liskeard School
