Governance Support

 governance training NGA
The safeguarding responsibilities of the governing body (including multi academy trusts)

This training will provide you with an overview of the key areas that you need to be aware of from a governance safeguarding perspective including preparation for Ofsted.  It links to part two of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) September 2018.

The course will help governors and board members to feel more confident in their role and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding.  We will look at how you can demonstrate being ‘a critical friend’ to the school as well as ensuring you can evidence ‘robust challenge’.

In being more effective in your role you will be better able to support the school/s and be a valued member of the safeguarding team within the school.

From an Ofsted perspective they will expect to see governors who can demonstrate a strong commitment and understanding of this role.
