Masked Faces of the Sexual Perpetrator

Course Description

A 3 hour seminar focusing on the behaviours that sexual perpetrators use to ensure victim compliance, minimise risk of disclosure and to reduce the likelihood of safeguarding adults seeing or taking action to intervene. There will also be opportunity to explore different questioning techniques that can be used when faced with perpetrator denial and manipulation.

Intended Audience

This seminar is suitable for anyone working with children and families where there are safeguarding concerns.

Learning Objectives

  • To have a better understanding of how sexual perpetrators groom victims, other potential safeguarding adults and professionals
  • To increase awareness of different questioning styles that can be used to challenge and sidestep denial and other grooming masks
