Subject Support Clusters

The School Effectiveness Cornwall Curriculum Advisor team is launching a network of Primary phase Subject Support Clusters this term with the aim of supporting Primary phase subject leaders in the development of their subject content knowledge, subject pedagogical knowledge and the leadership expertise within their teams.  Uniquely, there will be a cross-phase element to these groups, which will enable subject specialists from the secondary phase to share their expertise with Primary colleagues who may not have a specialist qualification in the subjects that they lead or those who want to update and deepen their subject knowledge.

How will this work? The ambition is to create a sustainable model of continuous improvement for both effective subject leadership and curriculum development through the establishment of a network of learning hubs where, through mutual support, the learning community is able to reflect on current practice and develop strategies for improvement.

Who will lead this? Initially the advisory team will set the agenda, but each cluster will set its own agenda within that framework in order to focus upon subject content knowledge and subject pedagogical knowledge. Each cluster will have a lead selected from expressions of interest (which may include those received from both primary and secondary phase colleagues) and which will be requested soon.

How frequently will they meet? The intention is (termly) with on-going online support and further training opportunities and ad hoc meetings within each community as required.

Cluster Coordinators

The School Effectiveness Team are re-advertising for a PE and DT  cluster coordinator as they did not appoint last time, and given the appetite for this work, we would like to ensure most of the foundation subjects are covered. Full details below:
