Training for all levels of staff to develop knowledge and confidence in;
- An understanding that good literacy instruction is good for all children
- A comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles that underpin how children learn to read
- How to use this knowledge to reach the lowest attaining pupils- creating an inclusive literacy rich classroom
- Practical approaches that are fun, and effective making use of existing schemes, resources and multi-sensory approaches based on research proven to raise children’s’ engagement and attainment in reading
- How to build enjoyment, confidence and a love of reading for all pupils
Staff will return to the classroom with an in-depth understanding of how to support all children in becoming readers
Training delivered by Dr Sarah Moseley, Educational Consultant
Sarah is an experienced, successful headteacher who Ofsted described as “ambitious for the future of the school... working tirelessly to improve pupils' achievements through high-quality training and checks on teaching which has led to improvements in pupils’ learning”. She is now working as an independent Educational Consultant specialising in school improvement and raising outcomes for all learners. Her key areas for support are a focus on all aspects of SEND, teaching and learning, inclusion, behaviour, and the development of literacy/communication.
