Please see below an animation depicting the 'Story of Richard Trevithick' which the Camborne Trevithick Day committee commissioned this year to celebrate 250 years since Richard's birth.
Sadly, the annual Trevithick Day scheduled for April could not go ahead due to Covid-19 restrictions, so this animation has been platformed for free access for all. We have received such positive feedback and suggestions that it should be circulated out to schools across Cornwall, therefore we are hoping that you might consider showing this to your pupils and students. In addition, we have attached some short 'Teacher's guidance and lesson plans' which your teachers can adopt as they deem appropriate for any pupil development.
This singular package is aimed at KS2 and possibly Year 7 from secondary school.
It should be emphasised that there is complete flexibility for teachers to develop the learning pathway in whichever direction they feel the pupils will benefit from.
We do hope that you will consider adopting this 'Richard Trevithick 250' animation package and if so, could we kindly request some evaluation along the lines of these four simple questions:
- Which school are you?
- What year group did you present this to?
- Did you find any of the Teacher's guidance & lesson plans useful?
- Could you give a brief description on which direction any pupil interest developed?
We may wish to use any feedback received in our own Camborne Trevithick Day media platforms.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
