What is Artis?
Artis is an online, participatory, creative learning platform for primary schools, enabling children to sing, dance and act the curriculum. 144 weekly episodes are led by experienced creative specialists, supported by teachers, alongside a library of teacher-led brain breaks and transitions to use in classrooms. All content is curriculum-linked and built on over 20 years of experience working in primary schools.
How it works in schools
Teachers can flexibly integrate Artis into their day:
- Weekly sessions embedded into planned topics
- Workshops for nurture groups or targeted support
- Enrichment sessions focussed on the performing arts
- Part of English/oracy teaching slots
- Short brain breaks and transitions to reset focus
Sessions are 25–30 minutes and designed for all primary ages, covering English, maths, science, geography, PSHE, oracy and more – many in an interdisciplinary way.
Artis is evidence based:
Our data partners PBE (Pro Bono Economics) found through analysing over 1,600 data sets that across an academic year:
- 29% increase in oracy
- 37% increase in wellbeing
- 34% increase in confidence
It’s especially effective for children with SEND, behavioural challenges or who struggle to engage in more passive lessons. Schools report improvements in focus, behaviour, confidence, and communication, all while fostering inclusion and participation.
