The Careers Hub Cornwall and Isles of Scilly brings together schools, colleges, employers and partners to improve careers education and support young people to make informed choices about their futures.
They work with education settings across the region to connect learning to real-world opportunities, providing access to labour market information, employer engagement, and practical resources that help build aspiration and broaden horizons from an early age.
Their approach supports schools and colleges to embed meaningful encounters with employers and careers learning into the curriculum, ensuring that every young person develops the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed in their next steps.
Targeted Support for Primary Settings
Their support for primary schools is currently focused and limited, aligned to the Parent Carer Engagement Framework delivered through Cornwall Council.
Through this offer, they will provide bespoke 1:1 support to those primary settings that have identified Principle 6: Raising and Realising Aspiration as a priority.
This tailored support includes:
- A review of current parent, business and community partnerships
- Development of a clear outreach brief aligned to school priorities
- Setting SMART targets to strengthen engagement and impact
- Access to relevant resources, labour market information and career pathways
- Direct links to employers across a range of sectors
- Information and support to access primary leadership training through the Careers and Enterprise Company.
This targeted approach ensures that support is practical, sustainable and rooted in each school's context.
