EduSuite - Free Professional Development

Do remember you have free access to staff meeting starters, from CAPH preferred partner, EduSuite. This week’s release is: Overcoming cognitive bias as an educator. Cognitive bias is a systematic error in thinking that occurs when people are processing and interpreting the world around them and affects the decisions and judgments they make. Unfortunately, these biases sometimes trip us up, leading to poor decisions and bad judgements. In education, staff may be implicitly biased towards or against a group of pupils, but be unaware of this. This could have a negative effect on those we teach. This staff meeting starter encourages staff to consider how biases might influence their thinking and actions.

EduSuite would also like to offer you free places for our next event: EYFS: Best start in life – Setting the scene on Wednesday 22nd November, 3:30pm-4:30pm. During this event, we will explore and explain the outcomes of the first part of Ofsted’s research ‘Best start in life’, into what constitutes high-quality early education. This event is suitable for all staff working in early years classes, as well as for subject and senior leaders. ‘Setting the scene’ is the first of the three reports Ofsted has published about early years education. Look out for our future events within this series.  Click here to book. Use the code CAPH-23 to ensure a free place.
