‘All children belong in school’
CAPH have been working with and supporting One Cornwall on this very important agenda. Join One Cornwall and partner organisations on Thursday 9th November at the Heartlands Conference Centre for a free event to work together to address this issue.
Low attendance is identified as an area for improvement in all phases in Cornwall. These programmes support a countywide strategy to improve belonging and attendance in schools. Using a rigorous assessment of need, this programme will support leaders and teachers to plan, implement and evaluate an evidence - informed approach, ensuring all pupils thrive in school. Whilst some elements of the programme are cross phase, 3 days are age/phase specific, focusing on things that schools can influence.

'Right support, Right place, Right time'
This programme aims to develop effective local SEND partnerships between specialist and mainstream schools and colleges, identifying expertise that can be shared across settings. The programme will explore the recently published DfE SEND and AP improvement plan and consider the implications for our teachers and leaders and focussing on how we can work together to build knowledge and implement changes that will impact positively on provision for pupils with SEND provision in our settings.
‘Belonging to promote engagement’, every interaction is an intervention.
This cross-phase programme is designed to support teachers & leaders in meeting the national and locally identified growth in the need to support children with their mental health and wellbeing, and subsequent presented behaviours.
Enhancing engagement & belonging through curriculum
We are delighted to welcome Mary Myatt back to Cornwall to deliver this one-day engagement event in two parts.
Part 1 Looking at the importance of deliberate curriculum development & design and the links to improving engagement and belonging.
