Kernow Talks

oracy spoken communication speech and language

Due to popular demand we are now running two more Oracy courses, one in the West and one in the East of the County. Flyers for all cohorts available to download below.

The Cornwall Oracy Project

Developing oracy and communication is pivotal to driving outstanding progress and attainment across the curriculum. The new Ofsted ‘Common Inspection Framework’ recognises the importance of using talk to accelerate and deepen learning in all subjects. This 9-session programme explores how to promote, develop and embed purposeful talk to enable students to successfully demonstrate their thirst for learning and students’ metacognitive skills.

This is an exciting opportunity for teachers and senior leaders to develop Oracy in their school/s.

Led by Dr James Rogers (www.jimrogerstraining.co.uk) co-creator of the Plymouth Oracy Project and Judy Clark advisor to the National Literacy Trust and lecturer at Plymouth Marjon University. This cross-phase course is for classroom teachers, middle leaders, SLEs and those leading a school or a MAT.

To book a place please email: lufton@parc-eglos.cornwall.sch.uk or call: 01326 572998.
