SEND Board meeting Summer term 2020 - key items to share

Some parents feel they have not received enough information from schools and colleges about transitions during lockdown. Some schools have offered virtual meetings to familiarise the young person with their new setting.

A large number of secondary schools have registered for SEND Review training with NASEN. The training will enable SENCOs to review SEND provision in other secondary schools and was due to take part this term but has been delayed to the autumn term.

NASEN and the Council will deliver level 3 SENCO training funded by the Department for Education (DfE).

There is currently a reduced capacity for Speech and Language Therapy (SALT), and as a result activity has stalled.
